The pretzel chain opens in The Beacon on Saturday 12 September: a giant pretzel pulling ceremony at 10.45am, then a free pretzel each from 11am to midday.

Auntie Anne’s, the American soft-pretzel chain, opens its Eastbourne store at The Beacon today, Saturday 12 September, and the first hour comes with free food.

The Beacon’s own announcement gives the running order:

  • 10.45am: the grand opening starts with a “Giant Pretzel Pulling Ceremony”
  • 11am to midday: one free original or cinnamon pretzel per person, while stocks last
  • a limited menu is available during the giveaway

The store sells soft pretzels in sweet and savoury varieties, hand-rolled and baked fresh on site, along with fresh lemonade.

What it means for you

If you want the free pretzel, be in the centre between 11am and midday today, and expect a queue: the offer is one per person and only while stocks last. After the giveaway hour the store trades normally during the centre’s opening hours.

The Beacon sits on Terminus Road, where the town centre public realm works are still running outside; if you are driving in, the current closures and the parking picture are on Eastbourne roadworks and travel.

Trade press reported this week that the Eastbourne opening is a landmark store for the chain’s UK expansion. The company’s own website does not yet confirm the milestone, so we have not repeated the number here.
