Pumpkin patches and pumpkin carving

Sharnfold Farm at Stone Cross, on Hailsham Road (BN24 5BU), runs a Halloween-themed farm trail through October half term, from 24 October to 1 November, open 10am to 4pm, according to its Visit Eastbourne listing. The farm promises Halloween characters, woodland scenes and hidden surprises along the trail. Pumpkin carving costs £6.95 per carver: you choose a pumpkin in the farm’s Sussex Barn and book a time slot when you pay. The farm recommends it for children aged 3 and over, with an adult supervising.

A warning if you search for the farm: the web address that looks like its own site now serves an unrelated gambling page. Use the Visit Eastbourne listing, run by Eastbourne Borough Council, for the details and the booking link.

Blackberry Farm Park at Whitesmith (BN8 6JD) has the fuller programme, set out on its Halloween page, from 24 October to 1 November:

  • Pick your own pumpkin, £6.75 a pumpkin. The farm recommends wellies.
  • Pumpkin carving with the farm’s team, £10.75 including the pumpkin. Book it on the day.
  • Half-price entry for children aged 2 to 16 in fancy dress, checked at the gate, new for 2026.
  • A scarecrow trail tractor ride with a Halloween word to spell out, a “Bump in the Night” barrel ride for over-3s, and a mystery maze the farm says younger children may find scary. Face painting is on each day, price to be confirmed.

Knockhatch: Half Term Horrors

Knockhatch Adventure Park on the Hailsham Bypass (BN27 3GD) decorates the park for half term and adds:

  • Two scare mazes, Charlie Shaw’s Revenge Experience and Biometrix, both rated 12A, open 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.
  • A Hansel and Gretel big-top circus show at 12.30pm, 2pm and 4pm, included in entry.
  • A spooky owl display. The event page gives 1pm; the park’s daily timetable lists owl displays at 1pm and 3pm.
  • Halloween arts and crafts, as a paid upgrade along with go-karts and the bungee trampolines.

Check the end date before a Saturday trip. The event’s own page says 24 to 31 October, but the park’s events list and Visit Eastbourne both say Saturday 24 to Friday 30 October. The park’s events list also has Sussex Police and East Sussex Fire and Rescue at the park on Tuesday 27 October, with uniforms to try on and a police van to sit in. Knockhatch does not put its ticket prices on the page; it says pre-booking online at least 24 hours ahead is cheaper.

Drusillas: Shriek Week

Drusillas Park at Alfriston (BN26 5QS) runs Halloween Shriek Week from 24 October to 1 November 2026, per its own page. The page gives the dates but no programme yet, and ticket prices are only on the park’s booking site, so check there before you go. The park was open 10am to 5pm when we checked on 3 October.

For grown-ups

  • Looking for Ghosts, Friday 23 October. The Royal Hippodrome Theatre, which opened in 1883, hosts a paranormal investigation in small teams, from seances and glass moving to infrared and electromagnetic equipment. Arrive at 8.20pm for an 8.30pm start; it finishes by 1.30am. All tickets are £55.
  • Rhythm of the 90s Halloween Party, Saturday 31 October, 7pm, at the Winter Garden, from £29.50 on Eastbourne Theatres’ booking page.

What is not on

  • Nothing on the seafront or at Sovereign Harbour has a 2026 Halloween date. Visit Eastbourne’s old listing for a Halloween trail at The Waterfront has been taken down, so search results quoting it are from a previous year.
  • Pevensey Castle has no Halloween event on English Heritage’s events page for the castle.
  • Eastbourne Bonfire is not a Halloween event. It took place on 3 October; see our Eastbourne Bonfire Night page. The town’s ticketed fireworks are at The Saffrons on Friday 6 November.

We will add anything else when an organiser publishes it.

Getting there

Sharnfold Farm, Knockhatch and Blackberry Farm are all north of the town, so most people drive. The clocks go back on Sunday 25 October, so it gets dark an hour earlier for most of the week. The Hippodrome and the Winter Garden are in town: our parking in Eastbourne page has the car parks and tariffs near both, and Eastbourne roadworks and travel has this month’s closures. The Beachy Head Marathon shuts Dukes Drive on 24 and 25 October, the first weekend of half term; see our Beachy Head Marathon page.

The rest of the week, from Brainiac Live! to the theatre shows, is on our Eastbourne October half term page, and the full month is on What’s On in Eastbourne.
